02 Nov Precision Geomatics: Cat & Genny Training Course
Last week Ergo Engineers Andrew and Jonny attended the Cat & Genny training course held by Precision Geomatics at their Sunderland Office. This course reinforces the Ergo commitment to safe drilling practices in the field and improving high standards.
The course comprised a classroom session learning about the theory behind the use of CAT scanning including applications and techniques to employ. Following this a practical was held outside using the CAT4+ and EZiCAT units to detect buried services and use the Genny to trace services. The course finished with a short test.
Jonny said of the course, “It’s reassuring to know that I have been using the CAT correctly. Though I learnt some valuable tools which I will be able to employ out on site to ensure I keep myself and others safe.”
Andrew stated, “It was my first training course as part of the Ergo team and I feel I learnt a lot. I feel more confident about using the CAT scanner going forwards now”.
The half-day session was good value for money and counts as Continued Professional Development as our engineers continue their work towards Chartership.
